If I remember correctly, CompUsa once sold these new for something close to $100USD after rebate. It was not advertised at that price. I think somebody realized that a large rebate was applicable for this model and so bargain hunters bought them up.

I've got one of these! It's actually most similar to the AMD FirePro W600, and will actually run the AMD FirePro driver package and identifies itself to the system as a W600 instead of a C680 if you do so.

Oh! Also adding to the Matrox info; there's a D-series as well, in between the C-series and the Intel-based Luma. The D1450 and D1480 are both based on Nvidia's Pascal architecture, specifically the Quadro P1000 (but on a PCB that looks more like the P2000), with the only difference between the two being the ports: quad HDMI or quad-DP. Both seem to be extremely rare, however.

This video made me discover this channel. Weird how yt works... Watched it like 10 times, watched the older successful android mods, made me look into ROMs (never knew about them or programing for that matter). I'm looking to buy few old phones just to mod them and try to have some fun on the side... As a long time iPhone user I don't thing i'll switch back to android because of this but it did bring back that spark of imagination and creativity back into a world of phones which I viewed only as pokedex(es) that help us do daily tasks more efficiently. Currently waiting for a s3 and bidding on s7 edge lol Thank you for this video, I would really want you to try with more S series phones and use these Roms in the modern day...

1st rule of thumb: NEVER connect a flash drive to a system with a pre-installed OS! I always wipe the partitions with read-only media, then proceed to install a CLEAN OS. That flash drive could potentially have been infected with virus/malware, that you would then connect to your day to day PC and ruin it. That being said, love these low budget PC reviews!

Under linux mint you get any modern browser, security, wifi connections, the sound is good youtube runs minecraft runs. Its easy to put away to the side i find these to be a bargen. You will need to clean the inside of most are just one big dust ball inside.

As an ex-CeX worker, it always amuses me seeing how other shops would handle computers like this. We had a strict no Apple keyboard/mouse = no buy policy with iMacs but the account being left on there is a common mistake in so many poorly run branches. The staff usually couldn't give half a shit and I had my fair share of email communications with other stores trying to clean up their messes such as store accounts! Even at their worst grade it amazes me that they bought this in, hardly worth the buy in for the store. There's an operations manual that all branches have to abide by but you know yourself, the average CeX worker probably doesn't know it exists lol

When i considered buying a graphics card to my windows 95 in late 90s - I consider buying the matrox gaming card or soundblaster own made grapics gaming card - I went with Soundlblaster - after a some time the graphics card basicilly went dead and could not be revived. I should have chosen hMatrox and saved like 80$ in 1998s money.

It is now obsolete in at least one way. It will not run the latest build of Windows 11, 24H2, at all, not even with workarounds for officially unsupported processors, because it does not support some newer instructions that are now used in the OS.
